FEAST OF SAINT GEMINIANUS 2025
Like every year, Modena celebrates its patron saint St Geminianus on 31 January.
For the occasion, the traditional San Geminiano Fair will be held in Piazza Grande and along the streets of the city centre, while the faithful will be able to pay their respects to the saint at the solemnly opened tomb on Saturday 18 January, to the sound of the bells of the Torre Ghirlandina, exceptionally manually operated after almost 80 years thanks to the efforts of the Associazione Unione Campanari Modenesi.
On Friday 31 January, the sites of the World Heritage Site will be open to visitors free of charge by reservation on visitmodena.it, and the Civic Museum of Modena will offer free admission from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. and guided tours topics offered at 10.30 a.m., 4 p.m. and 5.30 p.m.
