Site management and co-ordination
Il Sito Patrimonio Mondiale di Modena è un unique monumental complexbut there are two ownership entities: the Metropolitan Chapter of Modena and the Municipality of Modena.
Lo strumento che spiega le modalità con cui il sito viene gestito (la governance), espone le strategie individuate e ne descrive le attività è il Management Plan.
Dal 2004 l’Unesco richiede la formulation of this management documentwhich according to the guidelines of the Ministry of Culture, must identify:

The control system and monitoring of objectives.

The Municipality of Modena è riconosciuto da un apposito accordo di programma e dal Piano di gestione come entity responsible for the Site and identified the City Museum la sede dell’Ufficio Patrimonio Mondiale di Modena, che si occupa di:

Drafting and monitoring the Management Plan.

Curare i rapporti con l’UNESCO, tramite il focal point la Commissione Nazionale UNESCO.

Managing MiC-funded projects under the Law 77 of 2006 .

Curare l’evento annuale dedicato al Sito Patrimonio Mondiale.

Care and management together with the Cathedral Museums i progetti educativi “A scuola con l’Unesco”.

Coordinare le attività di monitoraggio, ricerca, tutela e restauro dei monumenti.

Drafting the questionnaire for the different cycles of the Periodic Report.

Taking care of inclusion and knowledge projects and experiences.

Coordinare le attività degli organismi che riuniscono tutti gli enti coinvolti nella gestione e tutela del Sito: il Comitato di Pilotaggio, il Comitato Tecnico e il Comitato per l’Alta Sorveglianza Scientifica.
COLLABORATIONS
Inter-agency collaboration for the management of the Modena Site
Modena Cathedral, the Cathedral Museums e il Palazzo Arcivescovile sono di proprietà del Metropolitan Chapter of Modenawhich protects and manages them through the’Diocesan Office for Ecclesiastical Cultural Heritage and the direction of the Cathedral Museums.
The Ghirlandina Civic Tower of Modena and the tourist information are managed by the Servizio per la promozione della città e turismo del Comune di Modena.
