MEETINGS AND TERRITORIES
On Thursday 6 February, the Modena World Heritage Office participates in the event "Encounters and Territories. UNESCO designations compared - Protecting World Heritage: a collective commitment for the future".to deal with the subject World Heritage and Creative City.
Synergies and opportunities. Modena is in fact one of the few Italian cities with two UNESCO designations, in 1997 the Site Cathedral, Civic Tower and Piazza Grande was inscribed on the World Heritage List, while in 2021 it was recognised as Creative City for Media Arts, with which Modena becomes part of a prestigious international network.
This contribution is part of the project Meetings and territoriesfunded by the Ministry of Culture with funds from Law 77/06, which has as one of its objectives the active involvement of both national and local institutions in the implementation of the World Heritage Convention.
The meeting, organised by theAssociation of Italian World Heritage Sites, will be held in Rome at the Sala Spadolini of the Ministry of Culture, from 10 a.m. to 1.30 p.m.
